About Mrs. Smith
Mrs. Kara Smith earned her Bachelor of Science in
Photojournalism and Graphic Arts from Southern Illinois University at
Carbondale in 2004. After graduation she
began working in the field of Marketing and Graphic Design. She worked professionally for 2 years in St.
Louis, and then moved to Chicago.
In 2006, Mrs. Smith had a change of heart and went back to
school to study Art Education while continuing to work full time. She earned her Masters in Education in 2007 from DePaul
University, the same year she was hired as a High School Art Teacher in Chicago. Mrs. Smith teaches Art 1, Photography, and yearbook, sponsors the Photography Club. She is
married to her hilarious and musically talented husband, Mike, and loves
playing with her beautiful daughter, Taylor, son, Avett and crazy dog, Maddie.
